Manchester United Full Fixtures And Hottest Matches In Premier League 2023/2024
The countdown to the start of the 2023/24 Premier League season has begun.
The new season will begin in just six weeks, on Friday, August 11, when newly promoted Burnley face reigning Premier League champions Manchester City. It will be Manchester United’s turn to take the stage for the first time 72 hours later.
Erik ten Hag’s side will kick off their 2023/24 season against Wolves on Monday, August 14 at Old Trafford. It will be the start of the Dutchman’s second season in charge, and he will be hoping to build on the progress made last season.
Ten Hag has already set United’s goal of competing for the top two after finishing third in his first season in charge, implying that they will need to work hard to close the gap on Manchester City and Arsenal. The Reds’ downfall last season, of course, was that they were always playing catch-up, losing their first two games. Having said that, they will be determined to get off to a better start this time. With that in mind, MEN Sport examined United’s first five games of 2023/24 and compared them to those of the clubs they are expected to face in the coming season.

On the road, however, United faces two stern tests in the space of a fortnight, traveling to North London to face Spurs and Arsenal. Last season, their road results against top-half teams were simply insufficient, and this is an issue that must be addressed as soon as possible.

Man United will begin their campaign at home against Wolves in the final game of the first round of fixtures. The two teams only met last month, with the Reds winning 2-0 at Old Trafford thanks to goals from Anthony Martial and Alejandro Garnacho.
On paper, it appears to be a favorable opportunity to pick up three points and begin the season with a win. United, on the other hand, will be mindful of the fact that they did lose their home opener last season, falling 2-1 to Brighton & Hove Albion in Ten Hag’s first competitive game in charge.

United will be desperate to exact revenge on their neighbors after losing the FA Cup final 2-1 to Manchester City. On Saturday, October 28, they will face off in the first Manchester derby of the season at Old Trafford.
United defeated City 2-1 in M16 last January, coming from behind to secure all three points. In 2022/23, United’s home record against their traditional ‘Big Six’ rivals was impressive, with victories over City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham.
Man United will not face old rivals Liverpool until the season’s midpoint, with the Red Devils visiting Anfield just before Christmas.
Ten Hag’s men will then host Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side at Old Trafford in early April.
