Amazon Prime Video Schedule in May 2023: Best New Movies and Show in Australia
In all honesty, the May 2023 release schedule is so light that you’d be better off exploring some of the older content that has already arrived on the streaming service this year. This collection contains all three original Ocean films, making it ideal for a Sunday night binge.
Gerard Butler is starring in a film about a plane crash. That’s pretty much all there is to know about Plane, one of the few action movies worth watching that will be available on Amazon Prime Video Australia in May. Butler plays a pilot who crashes-lands his plane in order to avoid a lightning strike, putting his passengers in even greater danger as he lands on a war-torn island. Of course, he’ll have to save some people here, which will lead to much of what we’ve come to expect whenever Butler and action are mentioned together.
It’s about time Lord of the Rings fans could binge watch the “other” trilogy for once. When it comes to streaming, it seems like Lord of the Rings gets all the attention, but The Hobbit is frequently just as good. Better in some cases. If you’re in it for the long haul, or if you’ve never seen the movies before, it’s worth setting aside a Sunday or two to make the investment.

This is not the first time the classic The Wolf of Wall Street has been made available on a streaming service. The Scorsese hit is always a hit across the major platforms, and it’s now available on Amazon Prime Video Australia. We know you’ve seen it a million times, but it never hurts to watch it again. After all, it is one of the most entertaining films DiCaprio has ever made.
Jimmy O. Yang, actor, stand-up comedian, and writer, returns for his second Amazon Original comedy special, Guess How Much? Guess How Much? is a follow-up to Yang’s beloved first global special, Good Deal, and delves into various topics such as love languages, loser friends, and negotiating with his Asian parents. Yang is best known for his roles in Crazy Rich Asians, Netflix’s rom-com Love Hard, and HBO’s Emmy-winning series Silicon Valley. He is currently filming the lead role in the Hulu series Interior Chinatown, produced and directed by Oscar winner Taika Waititi.
Tommy Little is Australia’s reigning rock star of comedy. Now the country’s favorite jerk has done something no one thought was a good idea: he’s become a pilot! While the rest of us were giving up on baking during the lockdowns, Tommy was aiming for the stars, taking flying lessons and landing his first solo flight (sort of). Tommy Little: Pretty Fly For A Dickhead tells the story of this and other adventures. Tommy is a perpetual motion machine on stage, constantly working the audience and landing line after line.
Zarna Garg’s first streaming stand-up special, One in a Billion, has taken the comedy world by storm. She has plenty to joke about as an unapologetic Indian-Immigrant mother, and the punch lines come fast and furious. Garg has sold out show after show since her meteoric rise on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Everyone from tweens to seniors look to Garg for her unique brand of tough love humour, which always comes from a place of “like.”
